A German painter and printmaker who was apart of the Die Brücke. He is considered to be one of the earliest Expressionism artists. His paintings are recognizable by his expressive brushstrokes and color. He started off doing woodcarvings and then entered into School of Applied Arts in Karlsruhe where his art career really took off.
